On January 26,2011 EL ITC was created on the basis of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Computer Sciences of the BSU. Sergei Ablameiko, the BSU rector, and Sergei Levteev, IBA CEO, P. A. Mandrik, the dean of FAMCS participated in the opening ceremony. In addition, representatives of Infopark, IBM EE/A, SAP CIS, and Belarusian office of Microsoft attended the event.

Creation of the IBA–BSU IT Competence Center is aimed at raising the level of IT education at the Belarusian State University. The IT Competence Center will help the BSU students and teachers to obtain consistent competencies in up-to-date IT- disciplines. The education is carried out in the frame of university programs of the leading world vendors:

• The program of Cisco Networking Academy
• IBM Academic Initiative – IBM university programs
• The program of SAP University Alliance
• Academic Initiative «ORACLE ACADEMY», which includes 3 levels - Introduction to Computer Science and Business (ICSB), Advanced Computer Science and Business (ACSB), Enterprise Business Applications and Processes (EBAP)
• Microsoft Education Program that includes numerous courses in education process innovations (IT Academy, Innovation Centers, MLG, MDAA, E–Learning), licensing programs for lecturers and students (CASA, MSDN Academic Alliance, Faculty Connection), and support for students and young specialists at contests and conferences (Imagine Cup,” Microsoft technologies in programming theory and practice”)
• University program “ Academy of Kaspersky”
• The use of program products 1C in the process of study.
